The Los Angeles Dodgers are starting to get stretched pretty thin. Left fielder Carl Crawford is the latest player to miss a game, sitting out on Friday after a collision with the left field wall on Thursday night. According to MLB.com's Ken Gurnick, Crawford said he could have played and was simply sore from the collision. Dodgers manager Don Mattingly admitted that Crawford's poor record (1-for-18) against Rockies starter Jon Garland was a factor, leading a sceptical Crawford to say 'the computer got me'. Crawford hurt himself while making a spectacular catch on Thursday night against the Los Angeles Angels. He came a long way to catch a well-hit ball by Alberto Callaspo, which looked to be landing right on the foul line, but he took the catch so close to the wall that he slid into it hard, appearing to bend his right wrist back on the impact. The Dodgers increased the buzz around outfield prospect Yasiel Puig by sending him out to play center field this week for Double-A Chattanooga, fuelling speculation that he would be called up to replace the injured Matt Kemp. The Dodgers have already played Andre Ethier in center this week and last night, Skip Schumaker got the start in a makeshift-looking Dodgers lineup. Another injury in the outfield would increase the calls for the 22-year-old Puig, now sporting a .313/.383/.599 line, to make his major league debut. Gurnick notes that both Matt Angle and Tony Gwynn have outfield experience but neither are on the 40-man roster, whereas Puig is. Follow @mlbinjurynews Looking for fantasy baseball advice?
