CC Sabathia Closes Contract Talks with the Indians - Indians 24/7

CC shut down contract talks with the Indians. His reasoning is a deal isn't done and now it's time for him to report to camp and he wants to concentrate on the season. Read between the lines. He's putting on a nice face saying, I want more than what they are offering and I'm going to hit free agency to get what I want. It's reported that the Indians offered CC a 4 to 5 year contract worth 18 million a year. That isn't far off from what Santana got. The Mets are actually differing a lot of money in his contract so Sanatana's contract was closer to 20 million a year. Let's face it, CC isn't worth what Santana got. The rumor is that CC wants 6, possibly 7 years guaranteed. That is ridiculous. However, there will be some stupid team that will give it to him.
