The string of bad luck following Aroldis Chapman has struck again.
The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports that Chapman's hotel room was robbed on Tuesday night while the Reds' closer was at the team's game against the Pirates at PNC Park.
Police were dispatched to Chapman's room shortly after 10pm after guests at the hotel heard a woman screaming for help from inside Chapman's room. The woman has not been identified, but a news release stated that she was the "guest of a male who attended the Pirates baseball game and who was not present at the time of the incident. During this incident the male guest had various items taken and was later interviewed by detectives."
This incident follows two recent issues - Chapman was arrested after being pulled over for doing 93 MPH on a suspended license, and he is being sued for 18 million dollars by a man in Cuba who claims he was jailed and blames the Reds' closer for his imprisonment.
Chapman's off-field issues have not affected his on-field performance. He is 4-0 with a 0.00 ERA for Cincinnati.
The Reds have made no formal statement on the matter at this time.

First there’s a Cuban guy bringing a civil suit against Aroldis Chapman for allegedly conspiring with the Cuban government.

We’re not going to say Aroldis Chapman’s new “girlfriend” Claudia Manrique set up his Cuban ass, but there’s a sneaking suspicion that the hotel room robbery the other night was an inside job. Would a 26-year-old chick, who’s in community college, normally be picked up at the Pittsburgh police station by her husband if he found out his wife was cheating on him with a...
We thought that the story surrounding the robbery of Aroldis Chapman’s hotel room was crazy enough, but it just got even crazier.
Now it seems that the woman that has been reported to be Chapman’s girlfriend is actually married. And after being questioned by police for over 10 hours about the incident, the woman’s husband comes and picks her up.

Either Aroldis Chapman has some bad mojo surrounding him off the field or he's got some secrets.
The reason we say that; apparently during last night's Pittsburgh Pirates/Cincinnati Reds game in Pittsburgh, someone or ones broke into the big Cuban lefthander's room and robbed him.
And it appears police found out...
It’s safe to say that the month of May has not been kind to Reds pitcher Aroldis Chapman. Things began to head downhill when he was arrested for driving 93 mph with a suspended license. From there, he was hit with an $18 million lawsuit accusing him of conspiracy to detain and torture the plaintiff. And now comes news that his hotel room in Pittsburgh, where he’s staying for...
While the cat’s away, the mouse will get tied up tight in a hotel room with some napkins (of all things) and robbed?
Uh, yeah. That’s what happened to the girlfriend of Aroldis Chapman while the couple were in Philadelphia during the Cincinnati Reds road trip.
I don’t know where Aroldis was at the time, but his lady should have known better than to answer the...
Something very strange, dark and mysterious is going on surrounding Aroldis Chapman.
It was just over a week ago that I declared him the lynchpin to the Cincinnati Reds 2012 uprising. A night later he gets in trouble for driving his car 101 miles an hour in Grove City. I thought little of it. Earlier this week, Chapman’s ‘girlfriend’ was found at a hotel in Pittsburgh bound...
Talk about bizarre news. Pittsburgh police are currently investigating a robbery that took place inside the hotel room of Reds pitcher Aroldis Chapman. According to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, officers were dispatched to Chapman’s Omni William Penn hotel room at 10:12 p.m. Tuesday night while he was still at the ballpark for the Reds-Pirates game. Pittsburgh police are investigating a late Tuesday robbery of the downtown hotel room of Cincinnati Reds closer Aroldis Chapman, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. Police found a 26-year-old woman tied up in the room. Chapman was not present because the Pirates/Reds game went late following a two-hour rain delay. The Post-Gazette reports that Omni William Penn security...

All eyes have been on Aroldis Chapman and his dominance through 26 scoreless innings. Unfortunately the 100+MPH arm has people completely overlooking the Oakland A’s reliever’s impressive streak of 23.1 scoreless, which ended last night due to a RBI Morneau double. Cook’s ERA now sits at .75. Billy Beane acquired Cook as a part of the blockbuster trade sending Trevor Cahill...
When Sparky Lyle strode from the bullpen the mound at Yankee Stadium during his days as a premier relief pitches in the mid- to late 1970s, organist Eddie Layton would play "Pomp and Circumstance." That probably wouldn't work as a ballpark song these days, but to hear Dusty Baker tell it, perhaps the traditional graduation accompaniment should be played on the sound...

robber at his Pittsburgh hotel room.
The month of May treated the Redlegs very kindly. It was a month that saw them not only get over the .500 mark, but it saw them catapult past the Cardinals for first place in the division as well. And you can't do that without some getting some good individual play from your players.
Here are a couple of guys who were pivotal in the positive turnaround this month:
