TEAMS: Philadelphia Phillies
The MLB FanCave has had a number of big name guests so far this baseball season, but few have been as entertaining as Philadelphia Phillies manager Charlie Manuel. And since the 68-year-old skipper has “no idea what Twitter is” it was good that he brought the team’s most active tweeter, Shane Victorino, with him to help him read some of his player’s tweets. One cat who got to witness the hilarity up close and personal was MLB FanCave dweller Gordon Mack.“Meeting Charlie and Shane was unreal, especially Charlie. Not many fans get the opportunity to talk baseball with their favorite manger.” the 24-year-old Phillies fan said. “Charlie was hilarious with his stories from his playing days, and it was fun to chat with him about mound visits and umpire chats as would imagine.”And while Manuel struggled with the tweets from current Phils Jimmy Rollins, John Mayberry Jr., Hunter Pence and, of course, Victorino…Mack has his thoughts as to what five former Phillies he’d like to see on Twitter....

Hardest Part of 2012: Knowing when to let go
Charlie Manuel and the Phillies are 30-34 and 9 1/2 games back in the NL East on June 14, but it hasn't stopped Phillies fans from watching. (Phillies Network/Kevin Durso)
On June 14, this is certainly a place where we expected the Phillies to be. Perhaps more importantly, we certainly didn’t think ten weeks ago that we would be celebrating a 9-8 win like it was the World...
Another Phillie Bites the Dust – Ruiz Likely Headed to DL
Carlos Ruiz, the Phillies best player by far this season, left last night’s game in the 6th inning with an oblique strain.
Just when it appears that there may be signs of life for the Philadelphia Phillies, something comes along and alters their course. After putting together a 2 game winning streak at the expense of the Minnesota Twins, the Phillies pulled into Toronto with hopes...
Phils Pull Out a Win Versus Twins
Cole Hamels- AP
Nothing comes east these days for the Phillies, as the National League East division’s last place club went down to the wire on Wednesday night to notch a victory over the Twins by a score of 9-8.
Behind a less-than-sharp Cole Hamels, the Phils were able to lock down a win in a month when such results aren’t very common. The game marked just the third time...
Thome adds to Target Field memories, as foe
MINNEAPOLIS This three-game series between the Philadelphia Phillies and Minnesota Twins is likely Jim Thome's last go-round at Target Field, the site of some of his mammoth home runs over the past few years.
Thome added one more to the list Wednesday.
In the fourth inning of the Phillies' 9-8 win, Thome took Twins reliever Anthony Swarzak deep for a two-run homer to...
The Latest on Roy Halladay and His Latissimus Dorsi Injury
Good news, Roy Halladay's latissimus dorsi muscle is healing a little quicker than expected:
11 Days after setting a three week timetable, Doc has already started throwing. While it is absolutely best to take it slow, it's great to see that Doc is already improving. The last time he pitched in a game was May 27th against the Cardinals. In that game, Roy left with a lingering...
Treasure hunt: Twins have Thome's HR ball
MINNEAPOLIS The ball Jim Thome hit for career home run No. 607 went missing on Thursday night. After the Phillies slugger hit a home run to right-center field against the Twins at Target Field, the ball disappeared into a flower box filled with coleus plants in front of the right field seats. Fans sitting right above the plants dug around to look for the historic ball, but to no...
Looks Like Phillies OF Prospect Domonic Brown is Injured Again
Things finally seemed to be looking up for the one-time "untouchable" prospect Domonic Brown at Lehigh Valley. Citing a reinvigorated attitude with a move to center field, Brown began hitting the ball in the way everyone came to expect. Now, a setback.
Iron Pigs Beat Reporter Michael LoRe reports that it was Brown's right knee that caused him to leave Thursday...
Phillies Drop Opener to Jays
The Toronto Blue Jays bullpen pitched a five hitter against the Phillies tonight winning 3-0. From what I saw, which wasn’t much, it wasn’t pretty.
The Good –
Vance Worley pitched seven innings allowing only one earned run and matched his longest outing of the season. He struck out five and only gave up five hits. Getting past the seventh inning has been some what of...

Joe Blanton pitched his second complete game of the season and Jim Thome homered for the second day in a row to lead the Philadelphia Phillies to a 6-1 victory over the Minnesota Twins on Thursday night.

The Phillie Phanatic tends to mess around with people, but he may have taken things too far recently. The Phillies mascot has been sued for allegedly throwing a woman into a hotel pool in July 2010. The woman, Suzanne Pierce, claims she was hurt pretty badly after landing in the shallow end, suffering "severe and permanent injuries to her head, neck, back, body, arms and legs...
