BALTIMORE-Wei-Yin Chen may be a rookie with the Orioles, but he continues to pitch like a talented veteran. Chen struck out 12 in just 5 2/3 innings, and the Orioles got homers from Matt Wieters and Omar Quintanilla in a 6-1 victory over Oakland Sunday afternoon. Chen (9-6) set a record for strikeouts by a Taiwanese-born pitcher, breaking the mark of 10 that Chien-Ming Wang set on June 17, 2007, when pitching with the Yankees. For Chen, his previous career high for strikeouts was nine, achieved earlier this season against the Mariners. Chen also became the first Oriole pitcher to strike out at least 10 in less than six innings of work. "I think my fastball got really good life today," Chen said through an interpreter.
