Outside the Boxscore:
Back on Tuesday night, one Chicago Cubs fan had a rather big moment in his life goes absolutely horribly wrong.
He has planned to propose to his girlfriend named Erica with a message on the Jumbotron like many professional sports fans do.
The only issue was the folks with the Cubs put the message up while Erica was in the bathroom:

Thankfully, she said yes and the proposal didn't go worse for this Cubs fan.

I feel for this poor guy after watching the below video. Greg, went to Wrigley Field on Monday night and was planning on proposing to his girlfriend during the game via a message on the scoreboard saying, “Erica, will you marry me?” In classic Cubs fashion, the message did scroll across the scoreboard as he had planned, but unfortunately his girlfriend had left to use the restroom...
The Greg Of Rohan celebrated his arrival to a more age appropriate level by hitting 2 HR's in 4 AB's. Rohan is 26 so he's probably the new Brad ******* Snyder! but still he has 19 HR's this year across three levels. Brett Jackson did Brett Jackson things hitting 3-5 with a triple and a strikeout. Yesterday rumor was that the Cubs brass is going to meet with Dale...
The Chicago Cubs have optioned pitcher Casey Coleman to Triple-A Iowa and recalled pitchers Chris Volstad and Alberto Cabrera from the minor league club.
The Cubs announced the moves before Wednesday's game against the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Coleman was recalled Tuesday and got hit hard in a 5-0 loss filling in for Ryan Dempster, who was traded to Texas.
Manager Dale Sveum says...
Everyone knows the Chicago Cubs own the most embarrassing streak in pro sports — 104 years without a championship and counting. But it is not until nights like Tuesday that we are reminded the Cubs also own the coolest streak in pro sports — 7,441 consecutive games with a hit and counting.
That streak looked to be in jeopardy as Pirates pitcher A.J. Burnett took a no-hitter...
Here's the running list of Ryan Dempster rumors leading up to the trade deadline:
– Ryan Dempster is still a Cub, but things could change today even though there's no deal close yet. Sources close to David Kaplan of CSNChicago confirmed him that the Dodgers, Yankees and Rangers are after Dempster and that the right hander will accept a deal to any one of them. Jon Heyman...
The Texas Rangers won the Ryan Dempster sweepstakes, acquiring the Chicago Cubs ace for two minor leaguers moments before Tuesday's trade deadline.
The AL West leaders fortified their rotation for the stretch run, sending infielder Christian Villanueva and pitcher Kyle Hendricks to Chicago.
Dempster, who had power to block deals, had refused to approve a trade to Atlanta last...
The Texas Rangers have acquired pitcher Ryan Dempster from the Chicago Cubs, beating out both the Dodgers and Yankees for the highly coveted starter.
The Rangers sent third baseman Christian Villanueva and RHP Kyle Hendricks to Cubs for Dempster. Both are at Class A.
The Rangers were talking to the Cubs about pitcher Matt Garza and Dempster to the end, trying to get one or the...
Rangers land Ryan Dempster

Will add more about Ryan Dempster once it's officially official.
Jayson Stark tweets that a Victorino trade would also mean Soriano won’t be attached to any Dempster trade to LA. They preferred Victorino all along anyway.
David Kaplan is reporting that the Dodgers remain very much in play for Dempster. However, nothing is close at this time.
Jon Heyman tweets that contrary to reports the Yankees are no longer in on Dempster.
In hopes of keeping...
Last night Geovany Soto was traded to the Texas Rangers for Jake Brigham. Brigham is a 24 year old right handed pitcher who has spent each of 2011 and 2012 for AA Frisco. His ERA over 2 seasons has basically been 4.5 and his FIP not much better. His FIP sits at 4.58 this year, his second time through the league.
Brigham was drafted in the 6th round by the Rangers and thanks to...
Ejections are rather commonplace during baseball games. Players get ejected. Managers get ejected. Even bench coaches and fans can be ejected on rare occasions. But the ballpark announcer? That's a new one. Daytona Cubs PA announcer Derek Dye was ejected by umpire Mario Seneca on Wednesday, after Dye played "Three Blind Mice" on the stadium speakers following a questionable...
Theo Epstein and Jed Hoyer officially began the hard work of shedding payroll before the deadline by consummating two trades during last night’s game. Reed Johnson and Geovany Soto were seen hugging teammates in the middle of the game, but they weren’t the most important pieces to go last night. The Cubs finally swung a deal with the Atlanta Braves after the Ryan...
I was getting ready for bed last night when all these trades happened and I assumed I'd make it to bed at my bedtime. Then I saw Arodys Vizcaino's name surface as one of the two players the Cubs were getting in return for Reed Johnson and Paul Maholm. At that point I knew I was going to be up past my bedtime.
I had figured when we first heard of these players leaving,...
