Atlanta Braves third baseman Chipper Jones collected his 2,600th career hit in the second game of Thursday's vs. the New York Mets.
Jones reached the milestone with an RBI double in the ninth inning of a 5-1 win.
Jones ranks second in franchise history in his, exactly 1,000 behind Hank Aaron. Jones ranks in the top five in virtually every all-time team hitting category.
Jones moved one hit ahead of Steve Garvey into 76th place on the all-time list. He is sixth among active players.
