In retirement, Chipper Jones has been required to move on. In the case of his impressive mansion in Roswell, Ga., the Braves legend is taking the idiom literally. Jones, the 1999 National League MVP and eight-time All-Star, has put the 3.19 million home up for sale. Besides the fact that it is the former home of a potential Hall of Fame baseball player, the house comprises eight bedrooms, seven baths, a six-car garage and a swimming pool. It sits on a 2 12-acre lot in a gated community in metro Atlanta. Other amenities include a state-of-the-art home theater, an exercise room, a chef's kitchen, a gentleman's study and (obviously, given the price) much more. It's clear that Jones lived comfortably during his time there. Jones, 41, retired last season after playing 20 seasons with the Atlanta Braves' organization. He's made numerous appearances at Turner Field this season to support his former team -- he's even a co-host on a baseball radio show in Atlanta -- but it is well-known that retirement has allowed him spend more time in Texas hunting at the Double Dime Ranch, his 9,000-acre estate. Jones posted a career .303 batting average with 468 home runs -- ranking behind only Mickey Mantle (536) and Eddie Murray (504) among switch hitters -- and is considered a first-ballot Hall of Fame candidate when he becomes eligible in 2017.
