If I wasn't as big of an Atlanta Braves fan as I am I would say that I'm happy that Chipper Jones retired. Guy has nothing but free time, and uses it very very well to entertain us. First he started dating playboy model Lexi Ray, then he made us feel like crap with pictures of all the big deer he shoots, and last but not least he gives us a good laugh in his garage. Chipper tried to put his new basketball hoop together for his kids and had a funny mishap. Clearly Chipper isn't the sharpest tool in the shed like he said. He put the hoop together, but forgot that his work ladder was stuck on the basketball pole with no way to get it off. Great stuff Larry, keep em coming.

Recently retired Atlanta Braves star Chipper Jones used a stepladder while putting together a driveway basketball hoop. Jones was able to put the hoop together properly, except for one small detail:

Tyler Pastornicky began last season as the Braves' starting shortstop. Now his future in Atlanta appears clouded at best. The Braves no longer view Pastornicky, who turned 23 in December, as even an adequate backup at shortstop. He is likely to spend 2013 at Class AAA Gwinnett, shuttling between second base and the outfield. Pastornicky's diminished standing was shown...
Each of Major League Baseball's 30 teams are set to unveil new batting practice caps for 2013. Most of the lids will feature new designs, while others will stick to more traditional looks. The Atlanta Braves are one of those teams who will be scrapping tradition in favor of a mascot-inspired logo. Their new design features a screaming Indian instead of the cursive "A...
Was there really a point to this? Bringing back the screaming savage indian of years past? It’s bad enough that racism like this existed for so long, it was Atlanta’s logo from 1967 to 1989. The mohawked image first made an appearance in 1954 during the Braves’ Milwaukee days.
From Big League Stew:
The re-emergence of the questionable logo is surprising given that the Cleveland...
The Atlanta Braves may be bringing back the 'Screaming Savage.'
Atlanta plans to re-release the logo the one it used sporadically up until 1989 for team batting practice caps, according to uniform guru Paul Lukas of Uni Watch. The image of the mohawked Native American figure dates back to the franchise's days in Milwaukee, where it first showed up in 1954.
It is believed...
Granted the choice is a bit odd, but we, like many others are trying to figure our where the uproar that is being reported over the new Atlanta Braves batting practice caps are coming from.
Major League Baseball announced yesterday their newest marketing gimmick. New BP caps. The reason: Simple, another product to sell to fans.

The New York Yankees, needing a right-handed hitting outfielder, identified one potential solution Wednesday but are still looking for others.
The team agreed to terms with Matt Diaz on a minor league contract, according to a source. Diaz, 34, will receive an invitation to major league spring training.
Last season, in 51 games with the Atlanta Braves, Diaz hit .222 with two home...
Why isn’t there more interest in Michael Bourn? A six-win center fielder is on the market, and our most recent article on the subject is whether or not his agent has waited too long to get him a deal. We don’t know what his asking price is, but the idea that a player coming off a career year and four straight seasons with more than four wins now needs a pillow contract seems...
ATLANTA — Police say the wife of former Atlanta Braves star Andruw Jones accused him of dragging her down a staircase, grabbing her neck and saying he wanted to kill her.
A police report obtained by The Associated Press says the fight happened around 1:30 a.m. on Christmas Day, after Nicole Jones asked her husband to help her prepare their home for Christmas morning.
The New York Yankees have signed outfielder Matt Diaz to a minor league deal. Diaz spent last season with the Braves but was limited to 51 games.
In New York, Diaz figures to be used against left-handed pitching. Diaz is a career .324/.364/.498 hitting against southpaws.
