ATLANTA -- Before delving into the most heated topic concerning the Braves organization, it's important to mention that Freddie Freeman, the team's best hitter in 2013, is leading the Final Vote (as of a few hours ago), which could significant undercut the entire "snub" debate. If Freeman were to beat out the likes of Dodgers' standouts Yasiel Puig and Adrian Gonzalez -- as many believe he should -- then Atlanta is not exactly left with a plethora of stars who should be making the trip to Citi Field. As it stands, though, Atlanta, which has held the NL East lead practically from the very first week in April, features just one All-Star on the National League roster. That would be Craig Kimbrel for the third-consecutive season. So, in terms of the voting process, what happened to Freeman or Justin Upton or Mike Minor? Should any other Braves have been under consideration? The Chopcast team -- Zach Dillard, Cory McCartney and Jay Clemons -- discuss the ins and outs of the All-Star selections and whether "snub" is too strong a word. Here are the highlights: -- It's been a rough stretch for the Braves (recently losing series to the Mets, Brewers, Marlins and Phillies), but do any problems or trends stand out? -- Should Freddie Freeman even be in the Final Vote, or should he have been guaranteed a spot by NL (and Giants) manager Bruce Bochy? Where does Freeman stack up in the league's deep class of first basemen? -- Were Justin Upton or Minor snubbed? Or did they play themselves out of a bid? -- Who should have been left off the NL roster?
