The Indians announced this morning that Josh Tomlin has been activated from the 60 day disabled list but will remain in AAA Columbus. The Cleveland Indians today recalled  RHP Josh Tomlin from his 30-day rehab assignment, activated him from the 60-day Disabled List and optioned him to AAA Columbus.” Josh Tomlin pitched for the Clippers on Friday, 12 months after Tommy John surgery. In his first outing, Tomlin pitched 5 solid innings but gave up 7 hits, 2 strike outs, and 3 earned runs in the fourth inning. Tomlin’s surgery was Aug. 22, 2012. He set a goal to return to the majors exactly one year later, and here we are discussing the return of the power pitcher to the big leagues.
