Crunch Time Questions - JA Happ

After last night the question must be asked; what should the Phillies do with JA Happ when it comes time to cut down the roster for the 25 man playoff roster?

You have two options with Happ; bullpen or starter in game four.

Personally I would add Happ to the bullpen and start Pedro Martinez in a game four situation, but that could change depending on the health of Martinez, and his performance tonight. I feel that Happ has struggled a bit down the stretch of the season. He has been throwing too many pitches and not enough innings, with last night's outing being a prime example. His ERA has also ballooned a bit.


A look at his average number of innings pitched when Happ has started a game is also a tad alarming.
Hopefully with the Phillies having a shot to wrap up the division tonight will allow most of the starters to get some extra rest, including Happ. The Phillies are still playing for some important home field advantage, but it appears that the Phillies are all but locked in to playing at home against the Rockies next week.
