Chicago Cubs outfielder Reed Johnson was activated from the 15-day disabled list Tuesday.
Johnson had been sidelined because of back spasms. He started in center field for Tuesday night's game against the Milwaukee Brewers.
The Cubs also sent outfielder Tyler Colvin and right-hander Casey Coleman to Triple-A Iowa to clear space on the roster.
Johnson went hitless in six rehab at-bats at Triple-A. He is batting .367 with two homers and 18 RBIs.
