Arizona (15-18) snapped a five-game losing streak Friday with a 5-1 victory over San Francisco (15-17). The Diamondbacks have outscored the Giants 56-23 during a nine-game winning streak in the series - tied for the longest active run by one team over another in the majors.
"There's no explanation for it at all," said Arizona manager Kirk Gibson, whose club has also beaten the Giants eight straight times at home. "I hope we beat them again (Saturday), not to keep the streak alive, just because we try and win every night."
