The Arizona Diamondbacks didn't need much help from Jason Kubel and Aaron Hill to keep their win streak going. The Diamondbacks will try to match their longest run of victories this season by continuing their recent home dominance over the Colorado Rockies on Tuesday night. Kubel went 0 for 4 with three strikeouts Monday after batting .409 with six homers and 11 RBIs over the previous five games, and Hill had the majors' longest active hit streak snapped at 13 contests. Arizona, though, produced a 6-3 win as pitcher Ian Kennedy hit a three-run triple and Paul Goldschmidt added a solo homer. The Diamondbacks (48-48) couldn't reach double digits in hits for a sixth straight game, but they won their season-high seventh straight at home and fourth in a row overall. Their longest win streak this season was a five-game run June 5-10, which started with two home victories over the Rockies (36-59). Arizona will look to Joe Saunders (4-6, 3.58 ERA) as it tries to move above .500 for the first time since June 30 and record its 14th victory in 17 home games against Colorado. The left-hander kept Cincinnati scoreless through five innings Thursday in his second start since coming off the disabled list, but he gave up a three-run homer in the sixth during the Diamondbacks' 7-6 defeat. "I made a good pitch to (Brandon) Phillips and he kept the ball fair," Saunders told the team's official website. "I don't know how he did it. ... You just tip your cap and move on." Saunders, 0-2 in three starts since June 10, yielded a season-high 11 hits and four runs during a 4-0 home loss to the Rockies on June 4. He was 5-1 with a 3.32 ERA in seven previous starts against Colorado. Saunders was originally slated to pitch opposite Drew Pomeranz, but the Rockies left-hander is being held out with soreness in his pitching arm. Colorado, which has lost seven of nine overall, didn't officially announce a starter Monday but may call up Edwar Cabrera (0-1, 19.29) from Triple-A Colorado Springs for a spot start. The left-hander hasn't pitched in the majors since his big league debut June 27, when he was tagged for seven runs and three homers over 2 1-3 innings of an 11-5 defeat to Washington. Todd Helton is eligible to return from the disabled list Tuesday, but the veteran first baseman is not expected to be back in the lineup until the Rockies return home Friday. "To bring him here for one or two days and to fly him here and then fly back - we just felt that it would be in his best interest for him to remain back in Denver and rejoin us then," manager Jim Tracy told his team's official website. Carlos Gonzalez recorded his third homer in five contests Monday and has reached base in all 10 games since the All-Star break. He's batting .341 in his career against Arizona but just .194 with one RBI in his last eight games at Chase Field.
