(PHOENIX) — The Arizona Diamondbacks announced today they have agreed to terms with infielder Geoff Blum on a two-year contract, according to D-backs’ Executive Vice President and General Manager Kevin Towers.
Blum, 37, hit .267 (54-for-202) with 22 runs scored, 10 doubles, a triple, 2 home runs and 22 RBI in 93 games for the Houston Astros last season. As a pinch-hitter, he hit .333 (14-for-42), which tied for fourth in the National League along with his 11 pinch-hit RBI. His 14 pinch-hits were tied for seventh in the league despite accumulating just 42 pinch-hit at-bats. He compiled a .974 fielding percentage after appearing in 53 games (42 starts) between all four infield positions.
