Dan Haren admitted to reporters after his recent poor outing on Tuesday that he has been suffering from back pain. Haren is in the midst of his worst season in the Majors, with a 6-7 record and 4.53 ERA. He lasted just four and a third innings against the Indians on Tuesday, while giving up six earned runs on nine hits.

Haren is set to be examined when the team returns to Los Angeles later this week, and a trip to the DL could be in his near future. This could be good news for Haren owners, as it provides some explanation why the 31 year old pitcher is having such a down year. It is possible that a few weeks of rest will give Haren the chance to regain his form.
