According to Lynn Worthy, the Eastern League has named right-handed starting pitcher, Darin Gorski, as their pitcher of the week for the time period of August 19th to the 25th.
It was a two-start week for Gorski that helped solidify his case to earn the honor. He worked 14.2 innings in those two appearances, compiling a 1-0 record and allowing three runs, 10 strikeouts, and four walks during that time. His ERA in these two starts ended up coming in at 1.84.
This performance was a great one for the right-hander, but it falls in line with what he’s been doing since he joined the B-Mets rotation. In 12 starts that have spanned 66.2 innings pitched, Gorski is 4-1 with a 1.89 ERA, allowing just 39 hits and 22 walks, while striking out 59 hitters.
