Found August 11, 2013 on We Should Be GM's:
I was searching for something on Darin Ruf, since he's one of the few good things going for the Phillies right now, and I came across this video from last year. He seems like a levelheaded guy and I hope he can continue to improve defensively in the outfield, because the Phils need his bat in the lineup. Perhaps he secures a starting gig for next season, along with Revere and Dom, which allows the Phillies to sign an offensive minded catcher like Brian McCann, who loves hitting in Citizens Bank Park (.292/.882, 18 DBL, 12 HR, and 49 RBI in 68 G).

Losses Keep Piling Up For Phils

Cliff Lee gave the Phillies a quality start tonight. Why would that be enough? (Photo: AP) All the best metaphors and similes to describe a Phillies loss in which they blow an early lead have been exhausted over the course of this dreadful season. At this stage, you can only come out and say it: The Phillies were up 4-0 to start the third inning of tonight’s game. They’d end...

Phillies' Roy Halladay could start minor league rehab assignment this week

As we suggested at the beginning of last week, Roy Halladay's return to the Philadelphia Phillies' rotation is looking more and more imminent.  After a successful simulated game yesterday, Halladay may be starting a minor league rehab assignment this upcoming week.  That would be the final hurdle before returning to the rotation. Matt Gelb of the Philadelphia Inquirer...

Phillies Rumors: Philly to target catchers this offseason

With Carlos Ruiz scheduled to hit free agency at the end of the year, the Phillies are going to be targeting catchers this offseason. The Phillies are not involved in any discussions with Ruiz about a new contract, according to Ryan Lawrence of the Philadelphia Daily News. Even though the Phillies aren't in discussions with Ruiz about a new deal, a new deal is not out of the...

Hamels and Mortally Wounded Phillies Begin in Hot Atlanta

The Phillies are in the middle of a horrid 4-17 stretch since the All Star break which began with wonder about what happens comes the trade deadline and currently stands with loud screams of "When is this going to stop?". Tonight they start a three game series against a hot...

The Downslide Continues; Phillies Blanked by Nats 6-0

Since there were no good images from today's game, I figured Cliff Lee's disappointment would say it all. Assuming you had the same prediction as any other baseball fan for today's Phillies-Nationals matchup, you were correct. The Stephen Strausberg we've seen dominate teams across the league appeared today in Nationals...

Another Bullpen Meltdown, Another Loss

It was a fun second inning. The Phillies jumped all over Nationals pitcher Taylor Jordan, featuring a two run blast from Darin Ruf, a safety squeeze RBI from Cliff Lee, and the offense batted around. Unfortunately there were seven and a half innings left. Lee wasn't bad tonight. His command...

The Baseball Blues

Hey Phillies fans…anyone else out there suffering from a severe case of the baseball blues? It is hard not to be down in the dumps after watching this Phillies team continue to suck, game after game. Getting swept in a 3-game series by the Nationals this weekend had to be the pinnacle of shame and embarrassment in an already dreadful season. Even dumping Delmon Young could not...

Amaro’s Failures Were Easy to Predict

Avoidable mistakes by Ruben Amaro and the Phillies’ front office have the team’s future looking bleak (AP Photo). The Phillies finally designated Delmon Young for assignment on Friday, months (if not years) after most of the Delaware Valley realized that he was not only useless in the short term, but was also hurting the club’s long-term prospects by delaying the audition of...
