We’ve had a bit of a rollercoaster ride over the last couple of years. When I drafted you twice in 2009, nobody in either league even remembered who you were. You know how it is; fantasy baseball is a fickle game, and you were coming off a season lost to concussion symptoms. I knew what you were capable of, though; I remembered that you hit for a good average with some pop, and even though you were never particularly great at drawing walks, your bat was good enough that I could work around the OBP.
So I took you onto my squad, and everyone said it was an ‘injury risk’ – but I knew you’d recovered. What I didn’t know was that you’d hit home runs like gangbusters, ending up with 36 of them and beating Robbie Alomar’s record.
