A 4-2 lead in the eighth, no problem. John Mayberry’s two out three-run home run in the third amounted for most of the Phillies’ offense. A safe lead, unless you are the Phillies. Fueled by Jimmy Rollins’ two-run error the Blue Jays tied the game and won the game in the 10th, 6-5. Rajai Davis’ two-out double scored Yunel Escobar with the winning run. Cliff Lee, again did not get the win faulted in the eighth, and the young bullpen did well, but could not nail down the victory. Maybe Phillies manager Charlie Manuel should take out Lee to start the eighth. After Lee and Rollins let in two runs, then Manuel brought in Chad Qualls. Qualls came in and you thought, uh, oh, but after giving up one run to tie the game and get Lee off the hook, again, Qualls got out of the inning. Phillies threatened in the 10th.
