Another game, another day of fans analyzing and bemoaning Ron Washington’s lineup.  Craig Gentry and Mike Napoli were absent from the starting lineup in favor of David Murphy and Geovany Soto.  Murphy’s swinging a hot bat right now, and Soto hasn’t had a ton of AL at bats yet, so I kind of get it.  I think most people are just wondering when Michael Young is going to get a game off.  The answer — probably not any time soon, despite his declining numbers. But, Washington’s lineup worked out just fine tonight.  Murphy and Soto each had a hit and scored.  Murphy even had an RBI.  Young had a hit and a walk too.  So … maybe Wash does know what he’s doing?  I don’t know.  We really don’t have much choice but to trust his gut at the moment.  It was good for six runs on ten hits tonight.  Not quite half-price pizza, but I’ll take that.
