Found April 25, 2013 on The Victory Formation:
PLAYERS: Derek Jeter
TEAMS: New York Yankees
According to multiple reports, the New York Yankees and Derek Jter will be holding a press conference this afternoon. Just one day ago, reports had Jeter going back into a walking boot after suffering a setback in his rehab from a broken foot. Jeter hurt himself in last year’s ALCS, and while he returned to play in Spring Training, he continued to have discomfort and during his rehab this Spring, he developed another fracture. We aren’t sure what the need is for a press conference, but it could be to announce that Jeter is out for the remainder of the year. But you never know. A press conference for such an announcement seems excessive, where a press release and/or statement is usual protocol. Retirement? That would be a shock. He is in the last year of his contract, though there is a player option for 2014.
