The Detroit Tigers are getting a little predictable. Sweep. Sweep. Sweep. Thanks to the two broomings this week by the Tigers, the State of Michigan turned in about as perfect a sports week as one could ask for. On top of the Tigers’ brilliance, Michigan, Michigan State, and the Lions all won as well.
For the first time since 1984, the Tigers have won 9 games in a row. It’s been a while, but if memory serves, 1984 turned out pretty well for the boys from Motown.
You know that little caution sign on your vehicle’s side mirrors? The one that says: “Caution: objects in mirror are closer than they appear.” Well, that doesn’t really apply in the American League Central anymore. Detroit, now 84-62, has blown the doors off the Central. The White Sox are the nearest competitor at 10.5 games back.
