While not shocking by any stretch, the Arizona Diamondbacks placed Cody Ross on the 15-day DL yesterday afternoon. The move came a day after he suffered a dislocated right hip while running to first base. The hip appeared to just jam and slip out. Most expected his season to be over at that point. That was confirmed yesterday as Ross had surgery scheduled for today.

J.J. Putz was on the mound Saturday performing his reliever duties for the Diamondbacks in the ninth inning against the Mets and had a very odd moment. Check out the video of J.J. winding up as any normal pitcher would but midway through delivery he got spooked by a loud sound which came out of what seemed to be the Chase Field speakers. PHOENIX -- The Diamondbacks were unable to close what now seems like a voluminous gap between themselves and the Dodgers on Monday night.

The race for National League MVP is wide open and Arizona Diamondbacks’ first baseman Paul Goldschmidt is putting together a pretty good case to win it.
Goldschmidt isn’t playing for a ‘winner’–the Diamondbacks sit just two games over .500 in the NL West and are six games out of the final Wild Card spot. Considering the way the writers vote, it could make...
The Arizona Diamondbacks were dealt a big blow on Sunday when third baseman Eric Chavez was placed on the 15-day disabled list due to stiff right hip and sore left knee.
While manager Kirk Gibson would have liked to keep Chavez in the lineup as long as possible, he knows the DL move was the team's wisest choice.
"He's a little older, as you know, and I try...
Diamondbacks reliever J.J. Putz threw quite possibly the worst "pitch" in the history of baseball Saturday night against the Mets, and the fact that the ball went directly downward (before rolling about 15 feet) wasn't even the strangest part.
As Putz started his motion to throw his first pitch to the Mets' Justin Turner with one out and nobody on, the Chase Field...
