Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder Chris Young is still nursing a left thumb injury that he initially suffered last month.
Young winced in pain after striking out to end Wednesday's contest against the Milwaukee Brewers.
"I talk to him every day about it," Diamondbacks manager Kirk Gibson told the Arizona Republic. "It's part of being an everyday player. I'm going to have to trust his judgment or the trainers' if they say I need to take him out of there."
Young, 27, is batting .255 with 16 homers and 47 RBIs this season.
