Pro Sports Daily:
Rookie 3B Matt Davidson had another big day at the plate delivering a home run double and four RBIs in a win over the Rockies on Sunday at Coors Field.
The win gave the Diamondbacks the rubber match of a three-game series and improved their record on the season to 79-76 meaning that they’ll finish over .500 if they can win three of their final seven games.
Costly out: A.J. Pollock made an out on the bases that cost Paul Goldschmidt yet another RBI. With runners on the corners in the eighth inning Goldschmidt hit a ball to deep left-center field. With Adam Eaton at third LF Charlie Culberson had no play at home and instead threw to second where he nailed Pollock trying to tag up from first to second. Goldschmidt drove in his 123rd run of the season with a third-inning double. Next closest to Goldschmidt in the NL is the Reds’ Jay Bruce who has 107.

The Diamondbacks may be out of playoff contention, but Paul Goldschmidt could be turning his breakout season into an MVP one. Goldschmidt looks to continue his offensive barrage with another strong performance against the Colorado Rockies in the middle game of this series Saturday night.

Paul Goldschmidt appears to have one part of the triple crown locked up as the Diamondbacks begin a four-game series in San Diego on Monday.
Goldschmidt has 123 RBIs, and it will take an awful lot to catch him with one week remaining in the regular season. The Reds' Jay Bruce (107), the Braves' Freddie Freeman (105) and the Reds' Brandon Phillips (102) are the only other...
Last week, the Los Angeles Dodgers clinched the National League West title, the team’s first since 2009.
