Oakland fans have had to wait a long time for days like this. As anyone familiar with Bay Area baseball will surely know, the San Francisco Giants have won two out of the last three World Series Championships. For too long now Oakland fans have seen throngs of new Giants fans delivered by the week, but as Bob Dylan might say the times they are a changing. The Oakland Athletics have commanded first place in their AL West Division for most of the season, while the Giants have now fallen into last place in the NL West. Here we are in the 10th of July, and this Oakland fan is happy to report that San Francisco has lost eight out of the ten games that were slated to happen. In fact, San Francisco didn’t even win the other two games they failed to lose as their Independence Day game was officially postponed and remains scoreless. The Oakland Athletics are actually tied with the St. Louis Cardinals for second place in all of Major League Baseball, with both teams chasing the leading B...

Chad Gaudin charged with lewdness after allegedly groping woman in Las Vegas ER

So, Chad Gaudin had himself quite a night in Vegas earlier this year. The Giants pitcher is charged with open and gross lewdness, a misdemeanor, after he was arrested back in January for allegedly groping a woman in an ER lobby. It’s a story that’s just downright bizarre and creepy. Police say it all went down at 4:30 a.m. at the Desert Springs Hospital three miles off the...

Matt Cain says he's healthy after Giants pull him in first inning

The sight of the bullpen warming up is not something Matt Cain is used to in the first inning of a game, but that's exactly what happened on Wednesday night against the New York Mets. A short time later, following John Buck's two-run single, San Francisco Giants manager Bruce Bochy pulled Cain for Mike Kickham after just 36 pitches. Cain told Tim Kawakami of the San Jose...

Josh Donaldson’s Hollywood Worthy Journey from Catching Prospect to Third Base All-Star (well, sort-of)

To say that Josh Donaldson has come a long way for the Oakland A’s should be considered possibly the understatement of the year. Donaldson, sent down to the minors three times last season, has emerged as one of the A’s rising stars and one of the best third basemen in all baseball. For a time though, it didn’t look like he necessarily factored into their plans at all any more...

The San Francisco Giants have optioned left-handed pitcher Mike Kickham to Triple-A Fresno. The young lefty did not make an appearance during his latest call up back on Tuesday. You Mad, Bro? Salami is the Wyrd

Man, from these fans, you’d never know the Giants had won 2 World Series titles in 3 years… From the SB Nation San Francisco Giants blog McCovey Chronicles “I’ve been praying and praying for Jeff Francoeur to save the Giants I’m anticipating a 30 game winning streak starting tonight!” “Mostly, having to do with Jeff Francoeur’s stupidly spelled name. The defending World Series champion Giants, who snapped a four-game losing streak, have been in a free-fall since June...

True Torture

Wait, the Giants won? Does that mean we’ve passed Rock Bottom? Actually, I didn’t ask that.  Don’t want to jinx anything.  Sorry, Baseball Gods!
