Despite Howard's absence from the lineup, the Phillies ended up with a season-high 21 hits, including four by Michael Young. Delmon Young had an RBI single in the first inning, a two-run double in the second, a run-scoring fielder's choice grounder in the sixth and a two-run...

On Thursday, we looked at prospective matches for a hypothetical Utley trade, citing the Yankees, Orioles, and Blue Jays as teams that...

Chalk this move up as strange: the Phillies acquired 38-year old infielder John McDonald from Cleveland for a player to be named later or cash. It doesn’t take advanced statistics to show that McDonald has been ineffective this season.
