The Pirates announced two roster moves today after the game. First off, reliever Brendan Donnelly was designated for assignment. Donnelly was having a pretty awful season and although this move was unexpected, it is definitely logical.Donnelly, 39, posted a 5.58 ERA over 30.2 innings this season. He struck out 26 and walked 25 during that span. The other move made by the Pirates was sending starter Brad Lincoln down after his 2nd consecutive poor start. Over 8 games, Lincoln went 1-4 with a 6.44 ERA. Over 50.1 innings, he struck out just 21 and walked 14.The move leaves two spots open on the 25-man roster and one empty spot on the 40-man roster.
