The Squirrel was on high alert yesterday when he sent over a picture of this dude rocking a Nationals hat in the Karate Kid. Well, it just so happens that the previous franchise in Washington – the Senators – rocked a similar W so we may have to give this guy even more credit for rocking a Washington Senators hat. Karate Kid just pulling out all the stops even in wardrobe.

Fire breaks out in light tower during Nationals game (Video)

Your browser does not support iframes. A fire broke out in one of the light towers above the right field stands at Nationals Park during the 11th inning of Thursday night's Washington Nationals game. Although play continued on the field without interruption, fans noticed the crackling and smoking coming from the light tower, and several sections of the upper deck in right...

Washington Nationals: Bryce Harper to begin rehab in Potomac on Tuesday

Good news for Washington Nationals fans everywhere, Bryce Harper is starting his comeback. Starting Tuesday, Harper will begin rehab at Class A Potomac. This is early even in Harper’s opinion. Before the Rockies game on Saturday Harper believed he wouldn’t be ready until at least Wednesday or Thursday. After a positive practice Monday at Nationals Park, the Nats organization...

So one of the light towers caught on fire in the 11th inning at Nationals Park

So one of the light towers caught fire at Nationals Park during the 11th inning Thursday night. No big deal.

Nationals' Bryce Harper getting back on track quickly

For a player who was concerned about whether he would even be ready to start a rehab assignment by Wednesday (he ended up starting Tuesday), Bryce Harper seems to be falling back into his old routines quickly.  And that's a good thing if you are a Washington Nationals fan.  Harper had an impressive performance for the Class-A Potomac Nationals last night. Harper did not...

Zimmermann quiets D-backs in Nationals' 3-2 win

Jordan Zimmermann is staying away from any discussion about whether he should be part of the NL All-Star team, let alone the starting pitcher. That's fine. His numbers are doing the talking for him. Zimmermann dominated after a shaky start and rookie Anthony Rendon had his third three-hit performance as the Washington Nationals defeated the Arizona Diamondbacks 3-2 on Wednesday...

Nationals' Ryan Zimmerman says sore shoulder not serious

Using 'Ryan Zimmerman' and 'shoulder soreness' in the same sentence is probably a good way to scare a Washington Nationals fan, but the third baseman was quick to downplay concerns after sitting out Tuesday's game, says MLB.com's Tom Schad. Zimmerman had his right shoulder surgically repaired in October and he stated that the day off was planned a week in...

Benjamin Standig Associated Press WASHINGTON -- Jordan Zimmermann dominated after a shaky start and rookie Anthony Rendon had his third three-hit performance as the Washington Nationals defeated the Arizona Diamondbacks 3-2 on Wednesday night. Rendon, Zimmermann Power Nats To Series-Winning Triumph Over Dbacks

“Outstanding” hasn’t been a word manager Davey Johnson has been often attributing to games played by his Washington Nationals (39-38) as they have labored to float their record above .500. But on Wednesday night, outstanding is exactly the word Johnson used to describe their 3-2 victory over the leaders of the NL West, the Arizona Diamondbacks (41-36), in a game that secured...

LaRoche homers, Nationals beat Diamondbacks 7-5

During a lengthy stretch when he pitched well but received scant offensive support, Washington pitcher Gio Gonzalez said and did all the right things. Tuesday night his patience was rewarded. Adam LaRoche hit a three-run homer and Gonzalez won for the first time since May 5 as the Nationals defeated the Diamondbacks 7-5. The Nationals led 6-0 after five innings and snapped a two...

A Look Inside The Nationals Archive

When I decided I wanted to write this post on The Nationals Archive, I wasn’t exactly sure what I was going to say about them or how I was going to say it, but I knew I wanted to learn more about the site that everyone in NatsTown, from fans to players to media, has started to notice. Earlier this week, I asked questions of The Archive’s eight members, and while I didn’t directly...

Are Braves Entering Crucial Stretch?

No one will dispute that the Atlanta Braves have had a really good start to the year.  They are first in the NL East and have one of the better records in baseball.  They are also the only team in their division with a positive run differential.  I still have one big concern though, that continues to bug me. Have the Braves done enough?  What I mean by that is have they given...

Despite rally, Diamondbacks fall in D.C.

Arizona almost made one of their patented rallies, but in the end the Nationals went home with the victory Tuesday night, beating the Diamondbacks, 7-5.

Nats Miss Chance For Sweep In Extra-Inning Loss To Dbacks

Fire, rain and extra innings – Thursday’s game had everything but a rally by the Washington Nationals (39-39), who fell to the Arizona Diamondbacks (42-36) and failed to complete what could have been their first sweep since early April. The rain-delayed game was punctuated by a small fire in a bank of lights over section 228 during the 11th inning. But as the fire...
