The walkoff single. The walkoff homer. The walkoff double. The walkoff...walk. We've seen all of them this week. We've now also seen one of the most impossible walkoff hits for anyone to achieve: the walkoff triple. That's what happened in Minnesota yesterday, when Ryan Doumit of all players hit a walkoff triple to gvie the Twins a 5-4 win over the Mariners. With Minnesota trailing by a run and two runners on, Doumit hit a ball to deep right center off the wall, scoring the two runs and giving the Twins the win. However, giving him a triple might have been a bit liberal from the scorekeepers, since he was halfway between second and third when Joe Mauer touched home with the winning run.
