The Cincinnati Reds put together an eight run inning in the seventh that took more than 40 minutes to complete and that was the deciding factor in their 10-6 win over the Miami Marlins on Sunday.   The final score makes the game look a closer than it really was after Miami put up four in the ninth inning.   Miami is now 4-15 on the year which is the worst record in Major League Baseball. Alex Sanabia cruised through the first six innings but things fell apart in the seventh when the Reds scored three off the right-hander before adding more against the bull pen.  Sanabia departed the game with the bases loaded and nobody out and all three of those runners scored.   In all, Sanabia allowed five runs on six hits and five walks while striking out three.   The pitcher guilty of allowing those inherited runners to score was Jon Rauch who also allowed five more of his own while only retiring two batters.  Tom Koehler had to enter the game and work the final one and a third innings which he...

Justin Upton And Six Others Have More Home Runs Than The Miami Marlins

Everyone anticipated that the Miami Marlins were going to be offensively challenged after trading the likes of Jose Reyes and others during their offseason fire-sale. However, after 19 contests the Marlins are a pathetic 4-15 nestled in the basement of the NL East . In 688 plate appearances Marlins hitters have gone yard only six times on the season, that is an average of one home...

Miami Falls in 13

A sacrifice fly in the 13th inning off the bat of Brandon Phillips gave the Cincinnati Reds a 3-2 win over the Miami Marlins on Saturday.  Once again, the story for Miami was great pitching and lackluster offense.   The two runs for Miami both came in the fifth inning and the team only compiled eight hits in the thirteen frames.   The loss means the Marlins will go at least one...

The Struggles of Giancarlo Stanton

Giancarlo Stanton was on the brink of stardom and ready to challenge the world as MLB's perennial homerun champion (crushed 93 HR through his age 22 season).  However, his team (Miami Marlins) traded away the rest of the club's talent and provided him with no supporting cast. This season has been a complete waste.  He's yet to hit a homerun, and only yesterday...

Twins, Marlins double down after snowy night

The Minnesota Twins and Miami Marlins finished at the bottom of their divisions in 2012. While things appear to be looking up for the Twins, the Marlins may be even worse off. Minnesota can match its longest winning streak from 2012 when it meets visiting Miami in the opener of a split doubleheader Tuesday. A 5-3 road win against the White Sox on Sunday gave the Twins (8-7) their...
