World Series Dreaming:
It surprises me that now fifteen years after Harry Caray passed away that the Chicago Cubs organization is still working on having seventh inning stretch guest conductors for the upcoming season. I totally understand why the Cubs decided to have guest conductors in 1998 yet, the novelty has most definitely wore off. With the uproar of having celebrities who were only there to promote their latest movie, television show, record, book or what ever and did not really talk about what was happening on the field should be a clear indication that the novelty of the guest conductor has worn off.
The whole thing about the seventh inning stretch was just to have fans refocus on the game and have a little more fun by singing a silly song about baseball. When Caray worked for the other Major League team in the City, someone heard Caray singing “Take Me Out To The Ballgame” and thought it was entertaining enough to share with the fans in attendance of the game. The organization worked it out wit...

The Chicago Cubs were active sellers at the trade deadline
last season, and president of baseball operations Theo Epstein told reporters,
including Carrie Muskat of MLB.com, that the team could find itself in a
similar situation this year if the struggles continue.
"That's part of the business," Sveum said.
"If your team is out of it, to start building...
The injury bug seems to love biting the Chicago
Cubs. Shortstop Starlin Castro came out of his team's Spring Training game on Wednesday, February 27, after straining his left hamstring while running out a ground ball. When Castro
still felt some stiffness on Friday morning, the Cubs sent him for an MRI.
The results came in Saturday. The MRI showed minor inflammation...

Those in charge of the Chicago Cubs are contemplating a re-branding effort that would change some of the most iconic features of the team's logo and uniforms.
After injuring his lat muscle on February 17th, Chicago Cubs starter Matt Garza just started playing catch today, and might not be ready for Opening Day for the Cubs. *Of course* he might not be ready for Opening Day.
“This is the first step to being ready to start pitching,” he said of the throwing session. ``The schedule isn’t for Opening Day, it isn’t for opening week...
What's with people doing Harry Caray impressions?Seriously, it seems like anyone with oversized black glasses thinks they have an open invitation to try and sound like the legendary Chicago Cubs broadcaster. And, mostly, they come across as hackneyed copies of the impersonation Will Ferrell made popular years ago.Yeah...looking your way Derek Holland and Ryan Dempster. So, when...
For as long as I have been following the game of baseball, and likely for decades before that, the fans of the Chicago Cubs have made many comments for how stupid the team has been. Whether they accuse the team of being stupid for trading away one of their scrappy young stars, or failing to sign or re-sign one of the better hitters that are on the market, the fans wrath never ceases...
Cubs right-hander Jeff Samardzija pitched out of enough trouble to get through three innings with the lead in Chicago's 6-2 loss to the Arizona Diamondbacks on Friday.
Samardzija - a candidate to start opening day at Pittsburgh on April 1 - walked three, including two when he loaded the bases with none out in the second inning, was making his second spring start and became the...
Key offseason additions: Edwin Jackson, Carlos Villanueva, Kyuji Fujikawa, Scott Feldman, Scott Baker Key offseason departures: Bryan LaHair The Chicago Cubs have not won a World Series since 1908. Finally, the last AtP for positional players. I've used basically all of the outfielders in the other two outfield summaries. This one is a bit light. Soler is a great prospect and that's it. Everyone else sucks.
