The Phillies made three untimely errors to keep Baltimore in the game, which ultimately proved costly as the O's walked off in the bottom of the 12th on a home run by Adam Jones.

It was the Phillies' 6th walk-0ff loss of the season. Typically in the past, defense and pitching has been this team's strength, but Saturday especially signs of weakness in the field kept the Orioles alive.

The 4th inning saw 3 errors from the Phillies, one by Rollins, one by Worley, and one by Fontenot. The last time the Phils committed 3 errors in one inning was back on June 13, 2009.

The now 29-32 Phillies, losers of 7 of their last 8 contests, were officially ruled for 3 errors in the game but several other miscues allowed the Orioles to stay in the game.

Jimmy Rollins, Jim Thome (career number 605), and Hector Luna all had solo shots in this one. Down 4-3, the Phillies tied the game on a RBI single by Thome. But it wasn't enough.

The Phillies As Sellers

Orioles top Phillies in extra innings again

BALTIMORE -- Something about extra-inning games just seems to bring out the best in the Baltimore Orioles this season. Pitchers With More Than 10 Starts And No Wins

Philadelphia Phillies’ LHP Cliff Lee is a pretty darn good pitcher. His reputation and production speaks for itself. However, 2012 has been a pretty unlucky year for Lee. Lee’s peripherals have been pretty much on point. He has 74 K’s in 70.2 innings, a 52.3 percent Ground Ball Percenage, and a 2.65 xFIP. When it comes to wins however, Lee has had no luck at all. Lee pitched...

Photo: Philliedelphia/Lindsey Crew Game 1 the Phillies prevailed in spite of a rough pitching performance from Joe Blanton, who gave up 5 earned runs in 6 2/3 innings.   An explosion from the offense thanks to the bats of Jim Thome and Shane Victorino made the Phillies victorious. Phillies and the NL East is A Game Of Thrones

Growing up, the Atlanta Braves were the rulers of the NL East and its five kingdoms. Could it be Curt Schilling or Scott Rolen? Unfortunately, they couldn’t deliver the goods. However, after eleven straight...
