It's more of a formality at this point, but Adam Rubin is reporting that the Mets have placed Kelvim Escobar and Carlos Beltran on the DL. Since the DL stint can start 1o days prior to the start of the season, if they don't believe one of these guys will not return prior to the last week of May then they can place them on the 60 day and use the roster spot.
