Germano is making his first big league start since a two-inning appearance with Cleveland in October 2010. He throws a two-seam fastball that sits around 86-89 MPH with decent movement. His main secondary offering is a big, slow 68-71 MPH curveball. He also has thrown a low 80′s changeup in the past, but has used it only sparingly during his brief big league stint this season. Germano’s best offering has historically been the sinker, as he is able to miss some bats and induce some ground balls with the pitch. His secondary stuff is pretty mediocre, although he has had decent success with his curve on occasion. There is not a whole lot of PITCHf/x data available on Germano, and most of it has been collected while he has been pitching out of the bullpen, so it is difficult to predict his approach in tonight’s game.

Guy has scoreboard marriage proposal fail

I feel for this poor guy after watching the below video. Greg, went to Wrigley Field on Monday night and was planning on proposing to his girlfriend during the game via a message on the scoreboard saying, “Erica, will you marry me?” In classic Cubs fashion, the message did scroll across the scoreboard as he had planned, but unfortunately his girlfriend had left to use the restroom...

Should the Dodgers try to include Soriano in a Dempster deal?

With the Dodgers and Cubs still cahtting about Ryan Dempster, another name has fallen into the deal: highly paid Cubs left fielder Alfonso Soriano. Soriano is involved in the talks between the Cubs and Dodgers along with Dempster, and this would be a huge move if the Cubs were able to package him and his massive contract with Dempster, and get him out of Wrigley. While Soriano...

Dodgers Trade Deadline Coverage: Ryan Dempster

Jayson Stark tweets that a Victorino trade would also mean Soriano won’t be attached to any Dempster trade to LA. They preferred Victorino all along anyway. Jon Heyman tweets that contrary to reports the Yankees are no longer in on Dempster. In hopes of keeping...
