Trog weighs in with a fan blog and his opinion on why the Rangers put Vicente Padilla on waivers. I disagree with some of Trog's thoughts and will discuss on the next page. Trog's blog: Rangers starting pitcher Vicente Padilla was placed on outright waivers earlier this week. It came as a surprise to the Rangers No. 2 hurler, and to much of the fan base. Padilla has had a history of inconsistent results. Although serviceable at times for Texas, his stock plummeted to an all-time low last season after posting results to the tune of 6-10 5.76 ERA and an alarmingly high 1.63 WHIP (walks + hits per innings pitched). After an unimpressive April in the 2009 campaign, Padilla showed signs of life and living up to his 3-year, $33 million contract. In fact, he was downright filthy in May.
