The 2013 MLB All-Star Game nearly went off without a hitch Tuesday night, as the A.L. topped the N.L. 3-0, with Yankees closer Mariano Rivera capturing the MVP award in his final Midsummer Classic after pitching a perfect 8th inning. The only glaring fly in the proverbial ointment was one Dylan Masone (@MasoneDylan), a fan who interrupted the game by running on the field after putting an offer to his Twitter followers just before game time that he would indeed scamper out on the Citi Field turf if he got 1000 retweets of this tweet… 1000 RT's and ill run across the field.. #ASG #CitiField — dyl (@MasoneDylan) July 16, 2013 Barely an hour later and Masone was nearly halfway to his goal… holy tuck 380 lmao — dyl (@MasoneDylan) July 17, 2013 Apparently Dylan’s followers really wanted to see him make an ass of himself, because some two hours later he must have been on the cusp of 1000 RTs, based on this tweet… i hate all of you — dyl (@MasoneDylan) July 17, 2013 Someone ratted Dylan out to his mother, who threatened to kick his ass if he went through with the stunt… WHO SNITCHED?! pic.twitter.com/6Rqw9YxCQa — dyl (@MasoneDylan) July 17, 2013 Goal reached, so now Dylan has to start formulating his plan… alright.. i guess have no choice.. gonna try to get out by left field — dyl (@MasoneDylan) July 17, 2013 Worried about what his mother was going to do to him, Dylan should have been more worried about what security might do to him when they caught him… if i actually get on the field pray for me cause my moms gonna kill me — dyl (@MasoneDylan) July 17, 2013 If Dylan Masone was going down in flames, he was taking all of social media with him… blame it on social media, love you all — dyl (@MasoneDylan) July 17, 2013 Moments before he ventures out onto the field, Dylan’s mom pleads with him to reconsider… ma stop yelling at me… pic.twitter.com/a2ly1HFxs7 — dyl (@MasoneDylan) July 17, 2013 To no avail, as Dylan’s final tweet of the night was this photo with the simple caption that spoke volumes… AHHH pic.twitter.com/qPEHfPYQ2I — dyl (@MasoneDylan) July 17, 2013 Needless to say Dylan Masone’s big night ended rather quickly, as security caught up with him near second base, dropped him like a bag of dirt, and carted him off the field to the waiting Citi Field holding area… Masone stated before his prank that his phone was nearly out of juice, which means he probably spent the remainder of the All-Star game alone in the bowels of Citi Field, a dead cell phone in his pocket and the knowledge that he just pissed away the cost of an All-Star game ticket because of a stupid, Twitter induced stunt. Hopefully next time Dylan gets the bright idea to act like a drunken frat boy for the benefit of his Twitter followers he’ll listen to his mother, because moms really do know best.
