Victor Martinez is likely out for the 2012 baseball season with a torn ACL. Tigers catcher Victor Martinez has torn his left ACL and may miss the entire 2012 season. Martinez has been one of the most reliable fantasy baseball catchers the past few seasons. Aside from a healthy Joe Mauer, one can argue that Martinez is the best fantasy catcher. With Martinez out, All Star catcher Alex Avila will see an expanded role as catcher. Avila played the role of DH for the Tigers last season and thrived, hitting 19 Hr and 82 RBI in 464 AB. There’s no reason to think that Avila won’t have similar, if not better, numbers in 2012 with Martinez out indefinitely. Written by contributor Zach Greubel.

Tigers' search to fill lineup void begins

How do you replace a guy that hit .330 with 12 home runs, 103 RBI and an on-base percentage of .380, who only struck out 51 times in 540 at-bats and who was both a calming and energizing veteran influence in the clubhouse? Royals' patience may pay off soon

It's been 27 years since the Kansas City Royals last reached the playoffs. Chicago Cubs fans are lauded for their patience, but they've enjoyed/endured five postseason appearances since Kansas City's most recent trip to October. Am I alone in thinking the Royals shouldn't be that far away from snapping the drought? Kansas City scored a respectable 730 runs last...
