Stephen Strasburg(notes) is the main reason Washington Nationals fans are so optimistic about the future these days, but don't look past general manager Mike Rizzo. He looks like an executive that gets it.

Rizzo made his second smart move in as many days on Friday, sending Cristian Guzman to the Rangers in exchange for some prospects (even without knowing who's coming over, we approve). This isn't the type of deal that sends shockwaves through the fantasy world, but it does clean up a few situations nicely. 

Ian Desmond(notes) is the fantasy winner from this exchange, as the move of Guzman clearly makes Desmond an everyday player for the balance of the year. He could be a 20-20 candidate in a season or two; for now, he's someone you wouldn't mind as your middle infielder or first bench option in typical mixers.
