Sunday’s overnight flight may very well have caught up with the Rangers. Tonight’s game was full of fail. So many bad plays and wasted scoring opportunities. I don’t even know where to start.
The Rangers put up a five-spot in the 2nd inning on five hits. It was a thing of beauty, but then they handed four runs right back to their opponents in the 3rd. What looked like a blowout became a nailbiter.
Neftali Feliz could not get it together. I prepared myself for some rough outings from him this season, as he grows into his starter role, but it was painful nonetheless. He barely survived five innings. He probably shouldn’t have been in that long, but Ron Washington hung with him anyway. And a few double plays saved him. He walked six (including Jeff Mathis twice) and allowed four hits. It’s amazing he left the mound on track for a win.
