Nelson Figueroa did a nice job filling in for the Mets, but that's exactly what he is, a fill-in. What makes Figgy valuable is that he has a rubber arm that can be used in the rotation or the pen. Here's the thing or me Figgy is a AAAA pitcher, he will look great for a stretch and just as you start to rely on him he falls apart. I would have like to keep him in the org. for call-up purposes but I'm not losing sleep over losing him. Does it make me cringe knowing he went to the Phillies, sure and I bet he's on one of his hot streaks when we play him. I know he's a fan favorite and there will be an out-cry over this,but if this pitching staff needs Figgy that much or this offense is getting beat up that much by him, we have bigger problems...Nelson Figueroa, the Brooklyn-born Mets fan, spent spring training with the Mets and had hoped to open the season with his boyhood team.
