Avisail Garcia done for year with torn labrum

White Sox placed OF Avisail Garcia on the 15-day disabled list with a torn labrum in his left shoulder. Garcia needs surgery to repair the labrum tear and has been ruled out for the remainder of the 2014 season. He suffered the injury Wednesday while diving for a ball in the outfield. It's a tough blow for the talented 22-year-old Venezuelan, who was sporting an .820 OPS through...

Avisail Garcia Has Torn Labrum, Done for the Season ☆

On Wednesday, Avisail Garcia injured his shoulder diving for a ball in right field. Later in the game, the White Sox issued a statement that called his injury just a “jammed shoulder,” which led to this update we had for you guys. But just before 2:00 CT on Thursday, the team had an unfortunate update for us. #WhiteSox have placed OF @AvisailGarcia on the 15-day DL w/ a torn...

White Sox Injury Updates: Avisail Garcia, Ronald Belisario

The Chicago White Sox were leading the Colorado Rockies in the bottom of the sixth 4-3 in interleague action on Wednesday when the wheels fell off.  Outfielder Avisail Garcia would leave with a shoulder injury en route to the game being tied.  Ronald Belisario would have to leave the game during the eighth inning with a back injury and the White Sox surrendered six runs that...

Gillaspie leads White Sox past Indians 9-6

CHICAGO (AP) -- Conor Gillaspie had a career-high four RBIs, leading Chris Sale and the Chicago White Sox to a 9-6 victory over the Cleveland Indians on Friday night. Sale (3-0) pitched five innings in his first win against Cleveland since May 1, 2012. The left-hander allowed three runs and six hits while throwing 105 pitches. The White Sox have captured the first two games of their...

Danks, Abreu Help Sox Defeat Tribe to Open Series ☆

No, that title is not a typo. The Sox actually beat the Cleveland Indians tonight. With a 7-3 victory over the Tribe, the White Sox now have half as many wins against Cleveland as they did all last season. If you do the simple math, you could figure out that the Sox went 2-17 against the Tribe last season. Yes, it was that bad. But if we’ve learned anything about this team in this...

DENVER (AP) Chicago White Sox outfielder Avisail Garcia left in the sixth inning of Wednesday's game against Colorado after injuring his left shoulder.

No Hair, No Problem. Frank Thomas Uses EZ Seed To Grow Hair in Hilarious Jimmy Kimmel Sketch

Sports Mockery – Frank Thomas made a guest appearance on the Jimmy Kimmel Show last night, and he is bald no more. Thomas was featured in a short sketch video that turned out to be a humorous ad for Scott’s EZ Seed. Guillermo, a very short hispanic man, attempts to prove that the grass seed can grow anywhere, including the bald head of a Hall Of Fame White Sox player. Guess...

Jose Abreu’s First and Worst

It’s been a hell of a stretch for Jose Dariel Abreu. Coming out of Cuba, he signed with the White Sox for life-changing money. He put together a decent spring training under completely unfamiliar circumstances, and then in his major-league debut, he went 2-for-4 with a double. He was intentionally walked twice in his second-ever […]

White Sox OF Garcia to miss rest of season

The Chicago White Sox say outfielder Avisail Garcia will miss the rest of the season because of a tear in his left shoulder.

White Sox finally find a way to beat the Indians

That streak, a hideous run of baseball that seemed to define the 2013 White Sox, is over. Courtesy of Thursday’s 7-3 win at U.S. Cellular Field, the White Sox snapped a 14-game losing streak against the Cleveland Indians that dated back to April 24, 2013. At least for a day, the White Sox can forget about a season series that tilted heavily in Cleveland’s favor and helped the...

Second Thoughts Game #10: Indians 3, White Sox 7

All good things must come to an end and such was the case for the Indians' 14-game win streak against the White Sox. Of course, with no Jason Giambi to summon from the bench, the task was somewhat tougher. Although he made history, Danny Salazar was for the most part ineffective against Chicago's lineup as he once again had to make a number of pitches just to get through...

Torn labrum ends Avisail Garcia’s season

Jake Peavy might want to roll himself up in bubble wrap until his next start. Just in case, because two other players involved in the three-team trade between the Boston Red Sox, Detroit Tigers and Chicago White Sox have suffered season-ending injuries. White Sox outfielder Avisail Garcia injured his left shoulder while attempting to make a diving catch during Wednesday’s 10-4...
