Seattle Mariners center fielder Michael Saunders had a fly ball bounce off his glove and hit him in the face during Friday night's game against the Chicago White Sox.
It happened in the bottom of the eighth inning as White Sox leadoff batter Paul Konerko hit what appeared to be an easy fly ball to center field. Saunders put his glove up to catch the ball, but somehow misjudged it and the ball glanced off his glove and hit him in the right side of the face.
Saunders did not appear to be seriously injured, but was charged with an error as Konerko ended up on second base. The play opened the door for the White Sox to score three runs in the inning to break a 4-4 tie and come away with the victory.
