An old friend for the Phillies is quickly turning into a foe. And it’s all because of three words stolen from a current Phillies superstar.
Greg Dobbs was instrumental in the Phillies’ first NL East title in 14 years. But, after leaving the Phillies following the 2010 season, Dobbs is using the line that united the Phillies in ’07 to spark his teammates on the newly-named Miami Marlins.
“I think we’re the team to beat,” Dobbs said. “I want us to be the team to beat, quite honestly. There isn’t any reason we can’t be that team. With the talent and the character and the personality in this clubhouse, I don’t see why not.”
Dobbs did try to avoid going there at first.
