The business aspect of baseball is never more apparent than it is at this time every year. No team can seriously avoid the practice of luring, bribing and jockeying available players/coaches to help their franchise win games. We like to call this game of proverbial musical chairs around the baseball world the MLB off-season.
And from a fan's perspective, it is as much of a challenge to stay up-to-date with the latest transactions list as it is for Charlie Brown to kick a pigskin. I love how the Mat Latos trade was barely even official before certain experts started proclaiming that the Reds overpaid.
Guess what?
To land a potential No. 1 starter - one who is 24 years old, a year away from arbitration and four years away from free agency -- it takes just slightly more than a few warm bodies.
