Starting pitcher Freddy Garcia will remain at Triple-A Norfolk until May 14. Garcia could have opted out of his minor league contract with the Baltimore Orioles after making his fifth start for the Tides but has opted to extend his stay. The veteran right-hander has a 2.67 ERA and a 0.98 WHIP during his five starts for Norfolk. Zach Britton was called up to start Monday for the Orioles after the team demoted struggling pitcher Jake Arrieta. If the Orioles fail to promote Garcia there figures to be no shortage of teams interested in his services.
