The Cardinal Nation blog:
Earlier this month, I made a post in support of a great cause, the St. Louis Men’s Group Against Cancer. The group is running a series of raffles to raise funds for charities focused on cancer research, prevention and care.
Since then, I learned the entry deadline has been extended through the end of the year. Better yet, I have been given a total of 12 raffle entries to be awarded free to one lucky reader of this blog.*
The winner of the raffle will receive four tickets to a pair of St. Louis Cardinals spring training games in Florida, two nights of hotel accommodations, a rental car with unlimited mileage and a Cardinals merchandise package. Included is an exclusive reception and dinner featuring a 2012 season preview with new manager Mike Matheny. The two spring games to attend will be of the winner’s choice.
Other STLMGAC raffles include a St. Louis Rams package, a new Cadillac SRX, a trip to New York and more as they work toward achieving their $75,000 goal. Best of all, STLMGA...

Every year at this time, I receive the autograph details for the St. Louis Cardinals Winter Warm-Up. The fan event is always held over Martin Luther King weekend, this time from Saturday, January 14 through Monday, January 16.
In my annual just-for-fun endeavor, I look at rising and falling autograph prices from year to year. These are set by someone within the Cardinals hierarchy...
The St. Louis Cardinals’ 2012 bullpen catcher is newly-hired, but is no stranger to the organization. Get to know Jamie Pogue in an exclusive interview for The Cardinal Nation subscribers.
Think about it. When was the last time a St. Louis Cardinals coach or front office member was directly named to a major league manager or general manager position in another organization?
For as much as St. Louis has enjoyed consistent success under the current ownership group, it has not been a springboard from which future big league leaders made their final external leap.
Does anyone want to go to St. Louis? After losing Albert Pujols to the Los Angeles Angels, it was unclear how the reigning champs would respond this off-season. Instead of going after the other marquee free-agents, the Cardinals appear to be shoring up their team through smaller moves. With the uncertainty surrounding Allen Craig — who had knee surgery in November — the Cardinals...
I learned a new word during a discussion recently.
I would think that the word, among Cardinal fans, would suggest that opposing players were developing a fear of the non-closer, Jason Motte. Who could blame them? The once-catcher-turned-pitcher has a live fastball and a reckless abandon towards the mound. Motte seemed to find his footing throughout 2011 and became a solid...
With the annual Cardinals Care Winter Warm-Up fan festival approaching, the club announced ticket prices and policies -- as well as a tentative schedule for autographs sessions at the event.
St. Louis Cardinals first base prospect Xavier Scruggs continues his reports from winter ball in Colombia.
As the St. Louis Cardinals made their improbable journey to the top, only La Russa and a few others knew it was the game's parting gift to a baseball lifer
Looks like the St. Louis Cardinals aren’t putting all their eggs in the Carlos Beltran basket. Multiple reports today say the Cards have held discussions with free agent Coco Crisp. There’s no deal imminent as it is simply what the reports said, discussions.
@HensonYahoo: The Cardinals are in discussions to sign Coco Crisp to play CF and bat at the top of the order. Jon Jay...
