After breaking out the bats for once on this home stand last night the Brewers found themselves in another pitchers duel in the series finale with the Colorado Rockies.  Despite a great start by ace Yovani Gallardo the Brewers couldn't find the offense to pick him up a victory, dropping the rubber match in the series 3-1 to the Rockies.Colorado got to Gallardo right off the bat, going up 1-0 in the first inning, but Yo was able to rebound and didn't allow another run in his 7 innings of work.   Unfortunately set-up man Francisco Rodriguez couldn't pick him up as he allowed an infield hit, a walk, and then a Michale Cuddyer bases clearing double that put Colorado up 3-1 in the top of the 8th inning. The Brewers couldn't find an answer to Rockies starter Jeremy Guthrie for most of the day, but were able to break through for a run in the bottom of the 4th to tie the game up at 1-1.  Guthrie only allowed 3 hits and 3 walks and allowed his defense to help pick him up in hi...

Ramirez one of a few key cogs struggling to hit

MILWAUKEE -- Aramis Ramirez is no stranger to cold starts. Just last year, in an impressive season that landed him his first Silver Slugger award, Ramirez had just two home runs through the first two months of the season. The same could be said for his 2010 season as well, in which he didn't raise his batting average above the .200 mark until the second week of July. This season...

Colorado Rockies let a close one get away

Lots of Monday Morning Quarterbacking with Jim TracyIt's easy to play Monday morning quarterback. It's easy to question every move a manager makes after the fact.As the saying goes, hindsight is 20/20. The best managers in the world are fans who complain about what the manager did after the move he made failed. It's not an easy job, and in a long season, every manager...

MILWAUKEE -- A .332 batting average. A staggering 33 home runs and 111 RBI. An NL-leading .597 slugging percentage. But on Sunday, they got their chance to hear it over the loud speakers in Milwaukee with a special title attached: MVP. There was no talk of controversy...

MILWAUKEE When the Brewers exploded for six runs in the seventh inning of last Saturday's matchup with the Rockies, manager Ron Roenicke admitted after the game that he was especially relieved. Stop cyber bullying @JohnAxford

In the modern world that we live in today there are many things that seek to ruin our way of life. We push on because that's really all that we...

Shaun Marcum: Offspeed Artist

Doug Melvin and the Milwaukee Brewers orchestrated one of the more controversial trades last winter, sending stud prospect Brett Lawrie to Toronto in return for right-hander Shaun Marcum. Lots of people spent the off-season lamenting the move, especially since Lawrie exploded onto the big league scene last season with a .293/.373/.580 line in his first 43 games and Marcum imploded...

Astros-Brewers Preview

The Milwaukee Brewers' weekend at home didn't go as well as they wanted. Giving the ball to Zack Greinke could help the defending NL Central champs get back on track.
